Profile:
Hedwig started working at Arnold & Siedsma in 2014 as a trainee, and became a fully qualified Dutch, Belgian and European Patent Attorney in 2017. She has a background in theoretical physics, specifically cold atom physics. Her PhD research took place at Utrecht University and resulted in a thesis entitled ʻSpin Transport in Cold Bose Gasesʼ.

At Arnold & Siedsma, Hedwig combines her affinity with language and her broad interest in science and technology. She is an expert in the fields of electronics, information technology and medical imaging, and in particular specializes in the prosecution of patents with claims comprising both technical and non-technical features, which are often found for instance in the software field. However, she also takes advantage of the diversity in types of work, clients and technical fields made possible by working in private practice.

She is furthermore actively involved in the company, amongst other things as a key member of an internal IT project and as a writer and editor of articles aimed at non-experts for the Arnold & Siedsma website.
