Raimond first came into contact with the fascinating world of intellectual property as a (private) inventor. He is now sitting on the opposite side of the table as an adviser, where he regards this background as highly valuable. As a patent attorney, he can readily identify with his clients, and he knows how complex patent procedures can be perceived to be. Raimond therefore keeps the lines of communication with his clients as short as possible, and aims to get the message across clearly. His motto is: “Your innovation is my motivation!”
At Arnold & Siedsma, Raimond’s work as a mechanical engineer primarily involves inventions in the fields of machinery and the automotive and aircraft industries.
He has been heavily involved in several opposition proceedings, including a large number for a major American aircraft manufacturer. However, he also ensures that inventions of Dutch origin are given the best protection, such as for the most successful electric bicycle in the Netherlands and typical Dutch civil engineering solutions such as manhole covers, pumping stations and locks. A well-known consumer product for which Raimond arranged protection is a revolutionary umbrella that can easily withstand wind force 10. Raimond also ensures protection for a Dutch engineering work which is a global player in the brick-making industry.
