Michiel Rijsdijk is IP Attorney at law and partner at Arnold & Siedsma. Michiel has an excellent reputation in the field of trademark and patent matters. He has conducted major national and international patent proceedings and has been involved as a litigator in well-known trademark law cases.
Michiel’s practice mainly consists of litigation in the field of intellectual property law, which includes coordinating international disputes and advising clients on intellectual property strategies. In addition to his litigation practice, Michiel is engaged in drafting contracts to protect and exploit IP rights.
Michiel is an expert in the IP domain who, thanks to his pragmatic and determined approach, is able to obtain the best results for his clients from a case.
Michiel began his career in the legal department of the reputable Arnold & Siedsma office, which has traditionally specialised in patent law in particular. He then worked for five years with Van der Steenhoven Advocaten as an IP lawyer, before setting up his own office with three colleagues at the end of 2007. In 2010, this office merged with Arnold & Siedsma, to which he returned as a partner.

Michiel Rijskijk has registered the following principal legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister):

Based on this registration he is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
Michiel is the co-founder and editor of www.boek9.nl. He is a member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), the Licensing Executive Society (LES), the Benelux Vereniging voor Merken en Modellenrecht (BMM) [Benelux Association for Trademark and Design Law] and the Vereniging voor Auteursrecht (VvA) [Copyright Association]. He is currently an active member of the regulatory team of the Association of European Trademark Owners (MARQUES) and the anti-counterfeit committee of the International Trademark Association (INTA). He also lectures and publishes on a regular basis.
