In June 2024, Klijs started as a trainee patent attorney at our Amsterdam office.
Klijs completed his studies in Technical Medicine at the University of Twente in 2019, specializing in “Medical Imaging and Interventions.” He then began a PhD program within the Department of Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at UMC Utrecht. Here he conducted research on imaging techniques in oral cancer surgery. Within this protmotion trajectory, among other things, he coordinated a nationwide study on ultrasound-guided resection of tongue cancer, gaining extensive experience in project management and stakeholder communication.
In addition, Klijs worked on preparation for facial reconstructions using computer assisted design/modeling. For example, he designed customized instruments for surgeons using 3D printing. Klijs has regularly been at the operating table working with surgeons to apply new techniques in patient care.
Klijs enjoys applying his knowledge in the field of (bio)physics and medical technology broadly. With his innovative outlook, he helps clients bring value to their ideas.
