Profile

Steve has extensive experience in international patent disputes and in drafting European freedom-to-operate assessments. He has expert knowledge of the differences between European and American patent law, and his British nationality is an advantage in European proceedings.

Steve studied chemistry at London University, specialising in organic chemistry. He has been working at Arnold & Siedsma since 1993, where he manages the Munich office. His work is primarily focused on proceedings and oppositions before the European Patent Office in the fields of pharmaceuticals, general chemistry, petrochemicals and diagnostic medical equipment.

Steve enjoys working closely with the client. When a conflicting patent is identified, opposition proceedings can be initiated at the European Patent Office. Together with the client, he works to determine the strongest position in relation to the competitor. From experience, this approach has proven to be highly successful and is very effective in achieving positive results quickly.

Steve is also jointly responsible for the A&S USA Desk.
