Profile

Rogier is a sworn Netherlands and European patent attorney. He is a civil engineer and graduated in Applied Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. The service he offers to customers is based on extensive experience acquired in industrial and academic surroundings. Until recently, Rogier lectured in material science at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Over a period of twenty years, he combined his teaching role with various R&D-related management positions at chemicals group DSM, where he also completed his studies as patent attorney. Before becoming a partner at Arnold & Siedsma, Rogier worked as an independent patent attorney for patent offices in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Rogier knows the ins and outs of the industrial sector, is able to consider customer needs and can approach issues from a variety of angles. As industrial attorney, he has considerable experience defending patents in opposition and appeal proceedings at the European Patent Office, and is very well versed in the strategic issues surrounding intellectual property.
